  Lawyers who treat the planet as their client. No one else in the UK environmental space does this at the scale they do, and watching governments and oil companies have to actually answer in court is its own kind of hope.

  Buying and protecting threatened habitat in partnership with local conservation groups.

  Where they focus

  Cloud forests, mangroves and grasslands, with over 2.5 million acres safeguarded since 1989.

  Why it matters

  Tangible outcomes you can point at on a map. Land kept in local hands and out of the bulldozer's path.

  Why we like them

  There's something deeply satisfying about a charity that just buys the actual hillside. The acres your donation helps protect will still be standing in fifty years, and that's a kind of certainty we don't get with most climate giving.
